Senior Backend Engineer (m/f/d)

We are hiring a Senior Backend Engineer for our client, a leading international business data platform headquartered in Hamburg, Germany.

Our client fosters innovation with a dynamic team of over 1,100 professionals from 70+ nations across 13 global offices.

• Implement services using modern Java frameworks such as Spring Boot on a globally accessible cloud infrastructure utilizing AWS Fargate or Lambda,
• Support CI/CD pipeline implementation, infrastructure setup, and monitoring using CDK, Terraform and Datadog,
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product owners, and QA engineers within a cross-functional product development team,
• Own end-to-end responsibility for software lifecycle: design, programming, code reviews, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance,
• Provide support and mentorship to junior team members, helping their development within the team.

• Completed training in IT or studies in computer science or comparable,
• Years of backend development experience in Java,
• Experience with Java microservice frameworks like Spring Boot,
• Experience with Kotlin,
• Experience working in agile teams,
• “You build it, you run it" – mindset,
• Experience in cloud platforms and infrastructure automation like AWS with CDK is a plus,
• Very good knowledge of English, knowledge of German is an advantage,
• Nice-to-have: experience in frontend technologies like React with Typescript.
