Platform Engineer – Cloud Platforms (m/f/d)

We are hiring a Platform Engineer for our client, an international e-commerce group with more than 45 million monthly active users headquartered in Hamburg, Germany.

Join our client’s Operations Team, taking responsibility for their high-traffic platform, operating all different services needed for an uninterrupted 24/7 business – even when one of our special promotions takes place, and we have to deal with ten times or even more concurrent users than usual. The team is always keen on automating as many processes as possible, constantly working on improving our diversified infrastructure and running dozens of highly available microservices. The services run almost entirely at AWS, and for the completion, further development, and maintenance, our client is currently looking for a skilled Platform Engineer to support them in this exciting project.

• Be responsible for the maintenance and continuous improvement of our highly available and scalable infrastructure
• Optimize and automate our workflows and secure the stability of the mission-critical systems
• Create innovative solutions for the deployment, operation, and monitoring of the system
• Supervise and monitor our infrastructure in integration, staging, and live environments
• Collaborate with an international, self-responsible, and agile team who are working with the newest toolset

• Excellent degree in a technical subject, e.g. Computer Science
• Good knowledge in developing with AWS, Docker, Python, Ansible, Cloudformation and Terraform
• Experience maintaining Unix server Infrastructures
• Familiarity with Kubernetes or other orchestration solutions
• You love agile software development, to take ownership and be committed
• Eager to automate as much as possible
• Deep knowledge of Git or any other version control system
• Solution and team-oriented, as well as working independently and proactive
• Service-oriented communication and collaboration across teams
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written
