We are hiring a Lead DevOps Engineer for our client, an international e-commerce group with more than 45 million monthly active users headquartered in Hamburg, Germany.

Join our client’s team and drive exciting topics such as scaling the cloud-based infrastructure across multiple online retailers or the always-increasing customer base in our online shop.

The Payments team is responsible for the complete payment lifecycle, from customers placing their orders within the Checkout to handling the refund of a returned item weeks later. The Payment team’s applications maintain range from high traffic & fault tolerance API hubs to security-conscious and reliable backend processing engines.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure availability, performance, and scalability of our infrastructure
  • Drive the use of practices like continuous integration, continuous delivery and infrastructure as code
  • Ensure the scalability of our flexible API solution by automating and standardizing the processes
  • Take over responsibility for the availability and smooth operations of our infrastructure
  • Supervise and monitor our infrastructure in integration, staging, and live environments
  • Manage the resources and services in a cost-efficient manner

Skills

AWS Azure Google Cloud Redis

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in a DevOps or DevOps-related roles
  • Capable of leading a team of DevOps Engineers
  • Good knowledge of maintaining unix server Infrastructures
  • Experience with one of the major cloud providers, e.g. AWS, Google Cloud, Azure
  • Experience using different monitoring tools (e.g. Datadog, Sentry, NewRelic, Kibana, …)
  • Understanding and interest in the security aspects of running a cloud infrastructure
  • Experience in caching systems like Redis
  • Eager to automate as much as possible
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written

Nice to have:

  • Coding knowledge in PHP
  • Experience using a broad range of AWS technologies (e.g. EC2, ECS, RDS, S3, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, etc.)
